Environment
Tyre and Service Superstore regards itself as a green company, placing a firm emphasis on Environmental Issues. We have a responsibility to ensure that all products removed from your vehicle are disposed of in a manner consistent with all EU Regulations. This is achieved in a number of ways:
Firstly, all tyres removed are collected by Crumb Rubber and sent to a recycling plant in Co. Louth where they are shredded and reused in many forms, from playgrounds, golf courses, running tracks and astropark pitches. Crumb Rubber are the only facility to fully recycle and return the rubber to a useful product in Ireland. Crumb Rubber Ireland Ltd was set up in 2003 to recycle end of life tyres, taking them completely out of the waste stream and turning them into new useful resources. This process produces Eco-innovative products for the agriculture, horticulture, construction, child care, equestrian, leisure, golf and sports industries.

Secondly, all waste oil products including filters are returned to ENVA Ireland who provides waste management and environmental services for automotive activities. ENVA also specialises in ancillary items associated with such activities, including oil filters, used absorbents and anti-freeze. This ensures the harmful by-products which are produced by your vehicle are reused in a safe and efficient manner.

Thirdly, all used batteries are recycled in an environmentally friendly manner. This is important as the lead from automotive batteries is toxic. BDI based in Co. Cavan collect and recycle lead acid batteries in Ireland. 99.9% of each battery collected is recycled. This closed-loop process ensures that all batteries are recovered in an environmentally sound and responsible manner in full compliance with the Battery Directive./

Fourthly we have fitted all 3 of our branches with the highest quality engine diagnostic and emission testing equipment to ensure your vehicle is as pollutant free as possible. This is achieved through a good understanding of the technology and a well-trained staff. Please feel free to contact Tyre and Service Superstore for any advice regarding these areas.
